Writing a bio is never easy. Whether you just stick to the facts or expound an intricate artistic philosophy, it never really does the trick. So, I'll try to do both.

Growing up in Erie, Pennsylvania, I received my first camera for my 13th birthday. Initially my first subjects were the brilliant sunsets over Lake Erie. Through high school, I took the usual newspaper, yearbook route and a handful of local contests. I would try to duplicate the styles of famous photos or try to do more artistic things, but didn't have much success producing the results I wanted. Eventually, I lost interest and didn't do much shooting for almost 10 years.

Then, a trip to Central America got the artisic juices flowing again. Older, and wiser, I was finally able to produce images that looked on paper exactly as I saw in my head. I began looking for subjects to suit the visions in my mind. In addition I began shooting concerts for BULLY Magazine. Though mountain vistas and interesting people are enjoyable, I get the biggest rush from shooting concerts. Whether it's the circus-like atmosphere of a show, or having an errant stage-diver land on your head, you never know what you'll get. You can burn through 6 rolls of $12 film in 5 minutes. But if you can get that one image of an artist that isn't the usual "Rolling Stone" fare, it's all worth it.
